Introduction to ODYSSEY

ODYSSEY Batteries are the most advanced lead acid 'Dry Cell' batteries currently available. Designed and constructed in the U.S.A. using Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) Pure Lead Technology. Pioneered and patented by Enersys Inc, in 1973. The Odyssey battery is best described as an 'absorbed electrolyte' type battery, meaning there is no liquid acid inside the battery. The electrolyte is absorbed in the fibrous matting that surrounds the Pure Lead (99.99%) plates. Extreme Batteries
The Result no acid spillage no vapors no corrosion, therefore, No expensive paint, chrome or part damage. ODYSSEY batteries are able to be installed safely inside any vehicle e.g., 4X4, custom road vehicles, hot rods, marine, audio and any competition race application all benefit from ODYSSEY's EXTREME high performance output and safety.

ODYSSEY Batteries are innovative, advanced design that provides both a high crank rating and a true deep cycle abilit.

Odyssey batteries have a longer service life with a 10-12 year design life and 5-8 years or longer average service life, saving down time due to inconvenient battery failure and has financial benefits corresponding to that anticipated longer service life.
Superior Cranking & Fast Charge Capability the 5 second cranking power of an ODYSSEY battery is double to triple to that of an equally sized conventional battery, even when the temperature is as low as -40 degrees celcius. Also with simple constant voltage charging i.e. vehicle alternator or voltage regulated charger. (maximum, continuous voltage out-put must not exceed 14.8 volts), but there is no limit to the initial in-rush current (amps), so the user is assured of fast charge recovery. To verify your chargers specifications you can contact us.
True Deep Cycle Performance ODYSSEY batteries are capable of delivering a large number of deep discharge cycles up to 400 when discharged down to 80% capacity. The ease with which Odyssey batteries continually recover from this type of application 'abuse' is unheard of in the automotive battery industry. Just ensure re-charging is carried out as soon as possible to avoid 'sulphation' (gradual capacity loss).
Longer Storage Life unlike conventional batteries that need to be recharged every 6 to 12 weeks, an Odyssey battery, when fully charged, can be stored for up to 2 years (at 25 degrees celsius) or 1 year (at 35 degrees celsius) before needing only a 'top up' charge before putting back into service. Ensure that your battery voltage is 12.84 or more and that no 'Parasitic Current Draw' is evident e.g. clock, stereo, seat, mirror and engine management memories. If these features are fitted and most importantly, if security alarms or satellite tracking systems are active, a suitable voltage regulated 'switch mode' charger must be connected to the battery when not in use.
Superior Vibration Resistance ODYSSEY batteries are Military Specification Grade, incorporating a 'VO RATED' flame retardant 'Nyrol' battery case (does not pertain to the PC535, PC625, PC1500 & PC2150). They have endured seriously rigorous tests that demonstrate their overall ruggedness of design and exceptional tolerance to mechanical, physical and harsh environmental use.

Ready out of the Box ODYSSEY batteries are shipped fully charged. If terminal voltage is over 12.60 volts just install and go. If less than 12.60 volts just recharge with approved 'switch mode' chargers.
Maintenance Free, no routine maintenance of your ODYSSEY battery is required for the life of the battery. No electrolyte topping up etc, just ensure that your charge voltage is in line with your vehicles manufacturer's specifications.

Mounting Flexibility may be installed in any position except inverted, without sacrificing any performance potential.
Worry Free Shipping and Delivery owing to the 'starved electrolyte' design, the Australian Code of Transport of Dangerous Goods by Rail and Road has classified Odyssey Batteries as a 'Dry Cell' battery (non-spillable), so they are able to be shipped worry free by courier, post or air. This is why Odyssey Batteries are simply the best.
